Congratulations to Pastrana and Edstrom

tp2Congratulations to Travis Pastrana & Christian Edstrom for winning the 2016 Rally in the 100 Acre Wood. There was a tight race all weekend between Travis and fellow SRTUSA teammate David Higgins at this years race.

After the first day of competition on Friday Travis was leading Higgins by 8 seconds but said going into Saturday that “Higgins is going to turn it up and we will have too as well if we want any shot at this!”

Throughout the second day of the rally Higgins started to win stages and claw back time on Pastrana. With 2 stages to go, Higgins was able to retake the lead by 4.9 seconds but ultimately fell to Pastrana on the last stage due to engine trouble.

Congratulations to Higgins & Drew

2015_100aw_higginsCongratulations to David Higgins & Craig Drew for winning the 2015 Rally in the 100 Acre Wood.  David and Craig dominated at this weekend’s snowy rally. With ice covering 50% of the roads on day 1 and steady snow on day 2 with 6+” of accumulation, this was a true snow event. The 2015 Subaru WRX STI handled the treacherous conditions with ease and performed flawlessly all weekend.

“These were some of the toughest conditions I’ve ever driven on,” explained Higgins at the podium. “There was a mix of everything. At a snow rally you at least know you are dealing with ice or snow, but here we also had gravel, frozen gravel, icy gravel and everything in between to go with the snow. Then when it began to snow late in the event the fresh snow hid the icy parts from view.”

2015 Spectator Information

The Rally in the 100 Acre Wood offers many opportunities for spectators to interact with the drivers & crew, watch the cars drive the stages, and see the crew make repairs to their cars in the service area.  All free of charge.

Download the Spectator Guide for the scheduled activities and maps to the spectator points.  As a reminder, spectators are only allowed at the approved spectator locations.

In addition, parking is a problem on the forest’s narrow roads.  Do not double-park and block these roads.   All cars must park on the same side of the road.  We must keep one side of the road clear and open for traffic. This is used as an access route for emergency vehicles.

Please follow the marshal’s directions when parking your car and please respect the Spectator Control Marshals. They work very long hours to ensure your safety and viewing enjoyment.
